Where board games are written into being

Wyrd Builder turns a rulebook into a living, testable game — draw the board, ingest and validate the rules, forge every component, and watch a thousand simulated tables play it before your first print.

Inside the builder

One spec. Four ways to shape it.

Everything reads and writes the same game specification — change the board, and the rules, components, and simulator already know.

01 · BOARD DESIGNER

Draw the world your game lives on

A full-screen canvas with real drawing tools — paint terrain, sketch non-playable areas freehand, and attach playable aspects like movement cost, line of sight, and setup zones to anything you draw.

  • Pen, polygon, and shape tools with tile-coverage awareness
  • Annotations bind to spatial zones the rules can address by name
Board designer: The full-screen board canvas — terrain-painted hex tiles, dashed annotation areas, the drawing tool rail, and the Design panel counting 82 tiles across 5 areas.
The board is a first-class part of the spec, not a picture beside it.

02 · RULEBOOK INGESTION

Your rulebook, read and challenged

Drop in a draft rulebook and Wyrd Builder parses it into structured rules — then validates them against the board and the components, surfacing contradictions, dead references, and unreachable states.

  • Clause-level extraction that links every rule back to its source text
  • Findings ranked by severity, each one fixable in place
Rulebook ingestion & validation: The ingest review dock, blocked on a closure violation, beside the validation report’s error, warning, and vocabulary-gap findings.
Every extracted rule keeps a thread back to the sentence it came from.

03 · COMPONENT EDITORS

Forge every piece of the game

Cards, factions, tokens, decks, tracks, and currencies each get a purpose-built editor — every field typed, every reference checked, every change versioned against the spec.

  • Contract-checked references between components
  • Versioned spec history with a visual diff for each revision
Component editors: The Structures editor — the spec’s section rail, the list of structures, and the typed detail form for the selected one.
One typed editor per primitive — no free-text spreadsheets.

04 · SIMULATOR

A thousand tables before the first one

Run automated playthroughs against the live spec — watch win-rate balance, game length, and choke points shift as you tune the rules, before a single human sits down.

  • Batch simulations with per-faction and per-seat balance reports
  • Replay any run turn-by-turn on the board
Simulator: The Simulate screen — seed, run count, per-seat factions and strategies, above the result of a finished run.
Balance you can measure while the design is still cheap to change.

The fates favor the prepared

The alpha is small by design — designers who join now shape what Wyrd Builder becomes.
